Robotic Triangles – my latest Cot Quilt Set has been a labour of love ! The colours blend into the robots and the navy striped binding is stunning !
I need to apologise for all the photos – yes I am going to bombard you for two reasons. Firstly, I love this set and will be sending it off on Monday with mixed emotions and secondly, I am thoroughly enjoying taking loads of pictures with my new camera !!
Robotic Triangles was created around the backing fabric from the Riley Blake Fabric – Fun Robots by Ann Kelle. I have matched the solid colours on the front to the robots with Robert Kaufman’s Kona cotton solids – Capri, titanium, white, coal, lipstick, ocean and azure !
The navy stripe binding is a Moda basic !
The Cot Quilt is 60×40″ which I find is a great size for not only the cot, but also for a play mat, lap quilt and comforter. This makes the quilt become more versatile and a longterm investment and treasure <3 .
I have quilted Robotic Triangles with the lovely Aurifil thread 2600 light grey and 2021 white. I have used a very modern geometric line and LOVE the secondary pattern these lines intersecting together have made.
While I was quilting, I was reminded of one of those party games ” Guess how many triangles are in this picture ??? There would be A LOT in this one !!
This is just one example of what can be created to produce stunning nursery linen that is truly unique, yet modern and stylish !!
Thanks for letting me swoon over this quilt before I send it away to it’s new home.
A beautiful new nursery decor for a special little boy…
Chrissie chose new beautiful ranges of fabric before Master P was born – this stunning Backyard Baby Range from Michael Miller and the pink Wee Wanderer also from Michael Miller. We didn’t know what gender their new addition was going to be – so creating could not start before Master P arrived.
The order was : fitted sheet, flat sheet, bunting and 2 cushion covers.
So the week master P arrived I ordered this gorgeous fabric range, and when it arrived – it is even more gorgeous in person <3. The fabric has a beautiful soft feel to it.
The first cushion cover is square, and just lent itself to some fussy cutting beside the polka dots. Chrissie had sent me a text during the week, and used Paddy instead of Patrick – so I decided to machine embroider this gorgeous “pet” name to the cushion. ON the second cushion I found this teal ribbon with polka dots at Spotlight while going through fabric – and thought it would be a perfect match and it was !!.
The fitted sheet and flat sheet were made from the polka dots – giving the nursery decor lots of colour for a sweet little boy.
The bunting has 15 flags and is double sided. I used an Ash Blue for Patrick’s name and machine applique’d the name to the front flag ! It looks so good in his room all together.
With the spare fabric – I created a cot sized pillowcase for when he is older.
I feel very honoured to have been entrusted with this creation. Bringing a newborn baby home to their new nursery that you have spent HOURS contemplating and designing is such a special time for all parents…
Enjoy <3 <3
